NSP 2- Senior Apartments- Coming on line!

NHP is pleased to partner with the City of Springfield on the implementation of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP 2). NSP 2 will allow NHP to build twelve new senior apartments on Drexel Avenue, behind the former South High School and near the gateway to Springfield's central city. These apartments will be available to residents 55 years of age and older and whose incomes do not exceed 50% of the annual median income.

There is universal consensus by major stakeholders of Springfield that it is critical to improve gateway neighborhoods in order to create a favorable entrance to the central city. As such, NHP has developed a neighborhood revitalization plan to meet the growing demand for a "smart growth" community: one that is centrally located to services, recreation, transportation, and a host of other amenities not easily accessible in the suburbs. Just think of the advantages for the families who live close enough to walk to the library, the YMCA, the Kuss Auditorium, their local Banks, restaurants, or the Heritage Center.

The senior units will have two bedrooms, be accessible to persons with disabilities, be highly energy efficient, and incorporate "green" environmentally friendly features. Construction will commence in 2011 and units will be available in 2012. If you would like more information or would like to be on our waiting list call 937.322-4623.
